Do You Feel Sorry for a Guy Still Earning $8.95/hr After 32 Years at McDonald’s?

Warning: I’m going to be blunt.

If you’re a delicate snowflake, stop reading now.

You’ve probably heard of “Fight for $15,” the group trying to organize fast-food workers to get their wages raised to $15 per hour.

One of their promos features a Felipe Mujita of Chicago. He says he has worked for McDonald’s for 32 years, and still earns $8.95 per hour.

This is supposed to make us all tears and pity for poor Felipe.

But think about it for a minute: what kind of no-ambition dolt is still earning $8.95, and has achieved zero upward advancement, after 32 YEARS?

That’s absurd and contemptible, not a cause to rally around.

Spend an hour a day learning a skill you can sell on a freelance site, and you’ll earn much more than $8.95 per hour.

Or spend an hour a day looking around the Internet at the way successful online earners are making their money.

Or read a book about local marketing.

SOMETHING.

But just plodding along, earning your $8.95 per hour for 32 years?

Look, man, not a SINGLE, SOLITARY EMPLOYER ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD thinks you’re worth more than $8.95 per hour. And you think a sensible way out of that situation is to bark demands through a bullhorn at the only employer on earth who can stand the sight of you?

There are plenty of opportunities out there for people willing to break out of their inertia.

Local businesses need websites. No one is approaching them with proposals. You can design simple yet beautiful sites for them that perform the basic functions a local business needs.

My daughter (Regina) and I are starting a new side business where we’ll do just that.

And there’s a tremendous tool you can use to build websites for businesses in scores of niches, in no time at all. That’s how we’re doing it.

Want a nice side hustle, or a new line of work? Check out our workshop on how to do this:

Be Regina. Not Felipe.

The Website Tweak I Use to Get My Stuff Noticed

You won’t believe how simple it is.

I put all my ads and links in the left-hand column rather than the right.

Notice that the clickable boxes on this site are all in a column on the left-hand side of the page.

Why do I do it that way? Studies show people expect to see ads in the right-hand column, so they subconsciously tune out that whole part of the screen.

So even if you have things other than ads there, they’re still less likely to be seen, simply because of where they are.

So I put things I want them to click on in the left-hand column instead.

Needless to say, a subtlety like this isn’t exactly the kind of thing local businesses know cold.

Plenty of them have no website at all, and those who do often have clunky or frankly hideous sites.

These are people, by the way, who will pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get their ads in the Yellow Pages, which nobody uses anymore. Without a website, they risk complete invisibility, especially to the rising generation.

This has OPPORTUNITY written all over it.

But Woods, you say, I’m not a web designer.

That makes two of us.

But remember: a local business needs only the most basic kind of site to be leagues ahead of its competitors. And I have a way for you to create sites like that even if (like me) you have no tech background to speak of.

My 13-year-old daughter and I plan to make a side business out of this.

On January 5, a week from today, we’re putting on a workshop to show you exactly the kind of tool we’re using to make it a breeze, as well as our strategy for identifying local businesses to create sites for.

Local businesses need websites, and nobody except you will bother to approach any of these businesses with a website proposal.

This is a winner. Make the time:

My Teenager Will NOT Flip Burgers. She’ll Start This Business Instead

One of these days my 13-year-old is going to need to start saving for a car.

I told her: you can work toward that car with a $7.25 burger-flipping job, or you can start a business, build a portfolio, and position yourself for college (she’s going into a technical field that requires it).

She was intrigued.

I showed her how she and I (and eventually, she alone) can build the kind of basic websites a local business needs. And there are tons of businesses without one.

They’re at risk of becoming invisible.

They pay hundreds of dollars to be in the Yellow Pages, which nobody uses anymore.

Now, when we drive around town, Regina points out businesses and wonders which ones have websites.

I know some web design people will be horrified: “Woods,” they’ll say, “you need all kinds of technical know-how to create whiz-bang websites!”

Local businesses don’t need and shouldn’t want whiz-bang websites. They need something simple and attractive. That’s what Regina and I will do.

You know these businesses need websites, and you know nobody else is approaching them with an offer to build one.

This is the kind of situation that should shout OPPORTUNITY at you. This is your future side business.

That future begins after our how-to workshop. Sign up:

Facebook Is Run by Creeps. But It’s a %&$#!@ Gold Mine

You may as well go ahead and have your limbs removed if you’re not using Facebook to promote your business, or to support your earn-dough-online efforts. Because that’s metaphorically what you’re doing to your chances at success.

I’ll bet many of you have no idea what you can do with this thing. Check this out:

(1) I can pitch RonPaulHomeschool.com to people who have expressed an interest in both Ron Paul AND homeschooling.

(2) I can target people who have visited my site but not yet ordered. This is called retargeting, and it’s incredibly effective.

(3) I can upload my email marketing list to Facebook. Facebook will then find the people on my list if they have Facebook accounts, and show them my ad. So even if they don’t open my emails (can you imagine that??), I can chase them around Facebook until they engage with me.

(4) I can have Facebook create “lookalike audiences” — people whose characteristics are the same as those who already follow me, or subscribe to my email list, or whatever. And then I can pitch my ads to them, so I never run out of people I can market to.

Folks, this is the tip of the iceberg. If you’re not learning and mastering this, do you see the advantage you’re handing your competitors?

Fortunately, Kevin Fahey once again comes to the rescue. He’ll show you how to do this. It’s one of the oh, I don’t know, 8 zillion things he teaches inside IM VIP Training.

Now do you see why I bought the lifetime membership?

Kevin’s giving you 7-day access to look around all his online-earning resources for just $1. Not to mention his private Facebook group, where some people on this very email list already have a thread going.

If there’s a more comprehensive site guiding you through everything you’ll need to know, I sure haven’t found it.

Looking for that side hustle or even to abandon a job you hate?

Then you have to do something.

This is step one of that something:

https://www.happyearner.com/viptraining

People Dumber Than You Are Making a Killing

You have options online. Among them:

You can create a product and sell it.

You can start a membership site for recurring dough every month.

You can start an online store and drop-ship physical products (an underrated option, by the way).

You can sell other people’s products as an affiliate and earn commissions.

Let’s focus on that last one.

The really good affiliate marketers are millionaires. The pretty good ones earn in the six figures.

There isn’t nearly as much competition as you’d think. In the Internet marketing world, for example, if you do an even halfway decent promotion of someone’s product launch, you’re almost guaranteed to finish among the top 10 affiliates and win a prize in addition to your commissions.

Some of these are really big prizes.

A lot of the time, people who aren’t particularly good writers (believe me, I’m on their email lists) and who don’t seem like they went to fancy schools are winning these prizes.

Here is the entire model they follow:

(1) Build an email list of people interested in their niche.
(2) Send affiliate offers to that list.

The bigger the list, the more they earn.

So:

(3) Keep building the list.

Yes, that’s really it.

Is there any reason you couldn’t start taking a crack at that a couple hours a week, and see what happens?

Here’s the tricky part: how do you drive traffic to your website or squeeze page so you can start building that lucrative email list?

How do you find out about products to promote and when they’re launching?

This is the tip of the iceberg of what Kevin Fahey can teach you inside IM VIP Training.

I have a lifetime membership there. For just a few more days, Kevin is willing to give you access to his hundreds of training videos and PDFs for 7 days, for just $1.

After that, it’s 27 smackers a month.

If you don’t think it’s a goldmine, just cancel and depart as friends.

But come on: people with far less talent than you are winning prizes you should be winning, for a lot less effort than you exert on your own job.

Fix that injustice:

My First-Ever Tough Love Email to My List

I sent this today. If you’re not on my entrepreneurship list (it’s different from the Tom Woods Letter), hop on at PathsToIncome.com and grab your copy of my eBook 5 Paths to an Online Income.

I’ve watched a lot of people make really, really bad decisions.

Academics are truly hopeless. Almost none of them can be bothered to learn how to promote their own work. Almost none of them have an email list. Almost none have a product — maybe a book here and there, but no upsell product: no courses, no membership site, no nothing.

Then they whine about their obscurity.

Know what, snowflake?

IT’S YOUR FAULT.

I will not be one of these lame email marketers who tells his list, “It’s not your fault you’re not succeeding!”

B.S. It IS your fault.

I see swamp dwellers with IQs of 60 winning five-figure affiliate contest prizes. If you’re not learning how to do that, is that the swamp dwellers’ fault?

A bunch of you took me up on this morning’s offer: get every single training product Kevin Fahey has ever produced for $1, for seven days. Don’t like it? Quit, and never see him again.

What I don’t get is why anyone wouldn’t do this.

You’re unhappy with where you are, you want a side hustle or perhaps even a whole new job (with no boss), and you’re looking for something better.

Well, beating out swamp dwellers for affiliate prizes sure beats 9 to 5.

Kevin is offering you access to all the knowledge you will ever need, period. Email marketing, Facebook advertising (I would be dead in the water without that), product creation, landing pages, and on and on. Every single thing every successful person online knows cold.

He is asking $1.

If you are thinking, “But I could buy some gum with that $1,” then I don’t know what to tell you.

If you don’t take action, the swamp dwellers win.

I want YOU to win.

That means knowing how to spend $1.

Now go pay Kevin a visit:

The Swamp Creatures Who Inhabit Internet Marketing

The Internet marketing world consists of two kinds of people: reputable entrepreneurs who genuinely want what’s best for their followers, and knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers who just want to lighten people’s wallets.

Which group is dominant? The jury is still out.

One guy I can vouch for, based on my own experience, is the heroic Kevin Fahey.

Last year I joined his membership site as a lifetime member. I’m in his private Facebook group, too, and believe me: he knows a lot. I have sought his advice several times and always profited from it.

Tuesday at 8:00am Eastern Time he’s running a one-hour webinar to show you how to set up an online business.

There are lots of tools the best of the best use: conversion trackers, link cloakers, Facebook ads, PLR, autoresponders, and plenty more. That’s a lot to learn. Kevin will give you the crash course, and show you how these tools combine to create an online business.

Note: Kevin is not a millionaire, though I suspect he’ll be there within the next few years. He’s not going to show you pictures of himself with fancy cars, or women in bikinis. Beware all creeps who do that.

I’ll tell you what Kevin is. He’s very successful, and getting more successful all the time. He started online from ground zero: no email list, no marketing knowledge, no advantages. He had to figure it all out for himself.

I GUARANTEE you will not write to tell me: Woods, that was a waste of my time.

You’ll say: whoa, how did that guy teach me so much in an hour?

Plus, he’s from Ireland, and his accent alone is worth tuning in for.

Your Comfort Zone is a Prison

Here’s something I’ll bet you never thought you’d do – but I’m sure some of you have secretly thought about it.

So far I’ve challenged you to take action in a variety of ways that might take you out of your comfort zone: e.g., starting a website, launching a podcast, or creating a product (like a card deck).

We all have our comfort zones. In principle there’s nothing wrong with them. But over time they can become like prisons.

Here’s what I’m challenging you to think about today: writing an eBook for Kindle.

Virtually every influential person you can think of has, at one time or another, written a book. It can position you as an authority. It can build your name recognition. It can open speaking and media opportunities for you. It can even earn you some dough.

But I get that it sounds like a scary proposition. And frankly, most people think of writing books as something other people do.

Writing books, creating products, launching a podcast, making a fortune from an affiliate site, building an email list, creating and selling an online course – that list of things other people do sure is long, isn’t it?

Maybe it’s time to start thinking another way.

On the other hand, the process of writing and publishing a Kindle eBook can seem daunting to a beginner. You have a lot more questions than you have answers.

So let me recommend a book, co-authored by Bob Bly: Write and Sell Kindle E-Books for Fun and Profit.

Who’s Bob Bly? Only “America’s greatest copywriter,” according to McGraw-Hill. (A copywriter is someone who writes advertising text, or “copy.”)

Know who wrote the sales page you see at LibertyClassroom.com? Bob Bly.

I wanted to hire the best.

That cost thousands and thousands of dollars. Reading Bob’s book costs you a pittance.

He’ll get you up and running as a Kindle author in no time. And he’s so sure his book is helpful that he’s willing to give you your money back AND LET YOU KEEP THE BOOK if you don’t agree.

Plus, forward me your receipt — copy and paste it into my Contact page — and I’ll send you a bonus: a 35-minute screencast video showing you the various ways I monetize my website. Selling physical books or eBooks is a great way to monetize a site, but I have a bunch of others, and I’ll reveal them to you in this bonus video.

Keep that bonus, too, even if you get a refund on Bob’s book. It’s truly no-lose.

I’m pulling the bonus in two days, so get grabbing:

A Dignified Way to Be Crazy Eddie

Three months ago, Eddie Antar died.

Never heard of him, you say. But if you lived through the 1980s, as I did, you do know him.

He was Crazy Eddie. His prices were “insane”!

Crazy Eddie shouted and flailed about, letting you know all about his deals. You can find his old commercials on YouTube. He became a phenomenon. And very rich. (He later wound up in federal prison, but that’s another story.)

I loved his commercials as a kid. I thought: this guy must be rich. And he was.

Still, that selling style isn’t for me. I prefer something a little less flamboyant, a little more restrained. Just as in-your-face as Crazy Eddie, but more methodical, more take-it-or-leave-it, more no matter how much you beg, this offer ain’t coming back.

Kind of like a clock. A cold, relentless clock that ticks without mercy, until the offer disappears.

Kind of like this:
