The One Unbreakable Rule That Explains Everything

I don’t understand it myself.

But it’s all over every aspect of human life: the 80/20 rule.

Economist Vilfredo Pareto noted in 1906 that 80% of Italian land was owned by 20% of Italians.

He then began to see this 80/20 relationship in numerous other areas of life.

Meanwhile, people began finding it at work in the business world. For example:

• 20% of your customers amount to 80% of your sales;
• 20% of your employees yield 80% of the results;
• 20% of your products yield 80% of your sales;
• 20% of your customers are responsible for 80% of your complaints;
• and many other cases.

I think the same rule holds true online.

100% of people want extra income streams, and they see plenty of knuckle-draggers making a killing online.

They say, “If these knuckle-draggers can do it, why can’t I?”

Answer: because the knuckle-draggers are in the 20% of people who actually do something instead of sitting on the sidelines and sticking to their existing routines, as the other 80% will do.

The whole thing boils down to three basic steps. My friend Bob Bly — the mystery man I’ve been talking about this week — knows them like the back of his hand.
